Automotive Mugs joins at The Sound of Sports Cars 2020 for the first time
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone who loves cars. Most parts of the year car events got cancelled or had to be postponed. Amazingly, in September during the weekend of the 5th the car community of Kaffee & Kurven hosted their annual The Sound of Sports Cars event in Salzburg. We paid a visit with the friends from Cars Club Switzerland.
From all over Europe 50 participating classic cars, sport cars, and exotic cars collected on Friday evening in the small village of St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut at the luxurious Scalaria Event Resort. We participated with a Ferrari F430 and classic Porsche 911 3.0 SC from Switzerland.
Roaring engines and simply amazing car people
With a packed event of 50 participating cars and 100 invited guests, the event started on Saturday morning at the Gwandhaus in Salzburg for the official check-in and welcome coffee. Lined was a wide variety of cars from a KTM X-Bow up to a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. This variety of cars bought together an amazing group of proper petrolheads who came to enjoy and their passion for cars.
Shorty after a ‘’get to know’’ and catching up with friends we have met during other occasions across Europe we head out to the Salzburgring for a lunch stop at the Salzburgring. Driving through the Austrian landscape with those cars was exactly what everyone needed after all the local lockdowns and canceled events. It was an absolutely perfect day. After the lunch break, we ended up finding some more driving roads which made us end up at the beautiful Postalm, an iconic place with an iconic road. This was the real “Sound of Sports Cars”.
The Saturday evening our friends, and sponsors of the show, De Watère Champagne opened the Gala Dinner with champagne while everyone mingled and enjoy the iconic view over Lake Wolfgangsee. These locations, amazing people, and weather made it a perfect evening. Only positive energy and motivating people together.
Sunday morning the event had his Grand Finale at the Palace Salzburg for a public gather and finally morning coffee. Those car enthusiasts who dream about these cars had the opportunity to see all participating cars.
